Kia ora, neighbour.
Need a hand with something small? Someone down the road is probably happy to help, for a fair price.
said they're keen. Coming soon.
How it works
Three steps, all in the app.
- 1
Post a task
Say what you need, when, and what you'll pay. Neighbours only see your suburb.

- 2
Pick a neighbour
People nearby offer to help. Chat in the app, check their ratings, and choose one.

- 3
Pay when it's done
Once you're both happy it's done, pay your helper in person. No fees while Pitch In is in beta.

Looking out for each other
- Your street address stays private until you pick your helper.
- Chat in the app, so nobody needs your phone number.
- On the day, your helper enters a 4-digit code when they arrive.
- Report or block anyone in a couple of taps, and a real person looks into it.
Teens can help too
- 13 to 17 year olds join through a parent or guardian.
- The caregiver says yes to every task first.
- Daytime only, 8am to 6pm, and only tasks that suit young people.
- Always paid in person, with no profile photo.
Why I started it
Life in New Zealand costs more than it used to. Lots of people are looking for a bit of extra income, and it's especially hard for teenagers to find paid work.
At the same time, plenty of people around here are happy to pay to get something done. You've probably seen it already: a teenager dropping flyers in letterboxes offering to mow lawns, or a note at the dairy asking for a hand in the garden.
I thought there had to be a better way to bring those two together. Pitch In takes away the busy work of finding someone, agreeing a price and sorting out payment, so it's just about the task.
If something isn't right, email support@pitchin.nz and you'll hear back from a person, usually within 2 working days. In an emergency, call 111.

Questions people ask
Can I use it now?
Not quite yet. It's opening soon. Say you're interested, and leave your email if you'd like a heads-up when it opens.
What kind of tasks can I post?
Small everyday things like mowing, gardening, moving furniture, tidying, pet help or tech help. Anything that needs a licence, or that's risky, isn't allowed. The terms have the full list.
Who does the tasks?
People who live near you, who choose what they'd like to help with. They're independent neighbours, not Pitch In staff.
How do I pay my helper?
In person, once you're both happy the task is done. While Pitch In is in beta there are no fees. The app reminds you to have the cash on hand.
What if something goes wrong?
Tap “Something wrong?” on the task, or Report in a chat. A real person looks into it. In an emergency, call 111.
Who can see my address?
Only the helper you choose. Everyone else just sees your suburb.
Keen? Put your hand up.
Pitch In is nearly ready. Every hand that goes up shows there's a need for it, and helps decide where it opens next.
